Moods of Kirtan (Sri Siksastakam) – Gaura Vani

Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna, Hare Hare

Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare

My yoga teacher played this tune during Shavasana after our yoga practice. It was so beautiful and magical that I actually started crying; It transported me to another realm.

My favourite passage

Ceto darpana marjanam bhava maha davagni nirvapanam
sreyah kairava candrika vitaranam vidya vadhu jivanam
anandambudhi-vardhanam prati padam purnamrtasvadanam
sarvatma snapanam sarvatma snapanam

param vijayate sri krishna sankirtanam

Translation

Glory to the Sri-Krishna-Sankirtana, which cleanses years of dust from the heart and extinguishes the fire of material life, of repeated birth and death. It spreads the rays of the moon and is the life of all knowledge. It increases the ocean of bliss, and enables us to taste the nectar we are anxious for.

LYRICS AND TRANSLATION.  by Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu Language: Sanskrit
